The District Tourism Development Office and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board are proud to announce the launch of the 1st ever National Rafting Championship in Tanakpur, Champawat. This prestigious three-day event is set to take place from September 27 to September 29, 2023, and aims to promote Tanakpur and Champawat as the preferred destination for rafting and adventure sports enthusiasts across India.

Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has personally invited rafting enthusiasts and adventure seekers to participate in this exhilarating championship. Being the home legislative assembly of Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji, Champawat holds a special place in his heart, and he believes that this event will showcase the true potential of the region.

The National Rafting Championship in Tanakpur, Champawat, Uttarakhand is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of adventure, nature, and the cultural heritage of the Champawat District. By bringing together renowned national-level rafting teams and organizations, we aim to create a platform where participants can showcase their skills while promoting Tanakpur and Champawat as preferred rafting destinations.

Our objectives for this championship are as follows:

• Promote Tanakpur, Champawat as Preferred Rafting Destinations: Through this event, we aim to highlight the pristine beauty and exciting rafting opportunities that Tanakpur and Champawat offer. By inviting national teams and organizing thrilling rafting heats, we aim to position these locations as preferred destinations for both professional and recreational rafting enthusiasts.
• Establish Uttarakhand as an Adventure Sports Hub: Uttarakhand has always been known for its majestic mountains and thrilling adventures. With the National Rafting Championship, we intend to establish Uttarakhand as a prime adventure sports hub in India. In addition to rafting, participants and visitors can indulge in activities like kayaking, ziplining, rock climbing, and rappelling, making Uttarakhand a one-stop destination for all adventure seekers.
• Boost Tourism and Local Economy: We expect the championship to draw a significant number of participants and visitors to Tanakpur and Champawat.
