Patal Rudreshwar Cave, was discovered in the year 1993. Length of the Patal Rudreshwar Cave is 40 metres, and its width is 18 metres.
The cave is approx. 80 km from Champawat. According to locals, a 14-year-old kid had a dream in which Goddess Durga herself revealed the location of this cave.
Devotees believe the discovery of the Patal Rudreshwar Cave was a miracle as there is belief that Lord Shiva is said to have obtained salvation only after performing penance here.
Inside the cave is a tiny pool of water with a white stone Shivling in the middle of it. On the far side of the pool is a white stone figure that looks like a bull. Five narrow streams of water traversing the cave rocks under the mountain naturally drip onto the shivling.
