Shyamla Tal

Located 30 km from Tanakpur town in Champawat District, Shyamla Tal is a natural lake that faces the sky while being tucked away within the area's lush green mountains. As its name suggests, the lake is often referred to as Shyamla, which describes Lord Krishna in Hinduism as having a slightly complex dark colour. The lake's naturally dirty water, tall mountains, and thick forest are what give it its dark hue. The lake Shyamla Tal, which has an area of more than 1.5 square kilometres and is located 1500 metres above sea level, is ideal for boating and other water sports. Shyamla Tal Lake is a good place to go for butterfly watching and nature hikes because of its favourable biodiversity for butterflies and wildflowers.
